California Energy Commission- The California Energy Commission’s (CEC’s) Clean Transportation Program announces the availability of up to $40 million in grant funds for projects that will deploy medium- and heavy-duty (MDHD) zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) charging or hydrogen refueling infrastructure for California seaports and land ports of entry. Funding will support new installation of in-ground fueling infrastructure for battery electric or hydrogen fuel cell MDHD vehicles and/or port equipment and/or off-road equipment (e.g. gantries, cargo handling equipment, etc.). The Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Association (PNWH2) is soliciting proposals for a third-party contractor to provide Legal Services to PNWH2 as detailed in section A.5 of the RFP documents posted on the Active Solicitations page on the Association's website: https://pnwh2.com/active-solicitations/.

Any award issued will be a Vendor Service Agreement with the Pacific Northwest Association (PNWH2). It is strongly recommended that interested firms review the RFP document thoroughly. REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)

The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) is exploring potential solutions that could ensure sufficient hydrogen supply for its future fuel cell bus fleet and provide the necessary technical support required for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the hydrogen infrastructure. SacRT is also exploring options to partner for hydrogen production that may provide a supply not just for SacRT but for other heavy-duty vehicle fleets in the region.

SacRT is requesting information regarding the most economical, cost-effective, and innovative way to achieve the above-mentioned goals. Options that provide comprehensive technology and service packages are welcome. SacRT is open to considering new business models that could involve public-private partnership and other co-development opportunities.

SacRT seeks submissions from vendors, consortiums, researchers, or other entities with expertise in hydrogen production, storage, and fueling systems, who can provide information on the engineering, procurement, construction, and maintenance of reliable, safe, and efficient hydrogen fueling infrastructure. Respondents are encouraged to outline their knowledge, share past project successes, explain requirements for adherence to industry standards and legal requirements, and share innovative practices that can meet the specific needs of a transit environment.

Detailed submission requirements are identified below. While this RFI identifies some preferred information for submissions, interested parties may also offer, in their submissions, to provide presentations, demonstrations, or literature to assist SacRT in gaining familiarity of current options in the marketplace for hydrogen-related technologies and hydrogen infrastructure support services. After SacRT has had an opportunity to review the RFI responses, SacRT may contact interested parties to schedule presentations or demonstrations, as deemed appropriate by SacRT in its sole discretion.

The results of this Request for Information will be used to develop SacRT’s next steps in its hydrogen development process. As further described below, SacRT’s hydrogen development efforts will be supported by a $76.8 million grant from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and all FTA requirements will apply to the solicitation and selection of contractors or partners for this effort. In addition, as a public entity, SacRT is subject to state law requirements for selection and development of public works projects involving the expenditure of public funds.
Other Details
Because the purpose of this RFI is to seek information to be used in structuring a full and open competition for development of hydrogen infrastructure, respondents must identify any information in their submissions that is considered proprietary or confidential or that could not be used by SacRT in a later solicitation. Further detail regarding the confidentiality of submissions is provided below.

Submission of a response to this RFI is not required as a condition of participation in the later solicitation but is encouraged to allow SacRT to appropriately structure its future solicitation or solicitations to maximize achievement of its objectives through market participation.

This is a competitive grant solicitation. The California Energy Commission’s (CEC’s) Clean Transportation Program announces the availability of up to $4 million in grant funds for one or more third-party implementers to provide technical assistance (TA) for communities eligible to seek federal and state funding for zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) infrastructure. TA providers will, at minimum, assist in identifying grant opportunities, support successful application development and submittal, and support project implementation that delivers benefits in under-resourced communities.

he U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today announced a new prize that will award over $3.3 million in prize money to new or newly formed place-based coalitions focused on creating good jobs in clean energy. The Good Jobs in Clean Energy Prize is aligned with the Biden-Harris Administration’s Investing in America agenda and "High Road" economic and workforce development principles.

"The growth of the clean energy economy offers abundant opportunity to put Americans to work with family-sustaining wages and room for advancement," said Alejandro Moreno, associate principal deputy assistant secretary for DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. "This new prize will support the 'boots on the ground' work that is necessary to make clean energy jobs accessible in every community across the country."

"Good jobs" are defined as providing stable pay and benefits that can support families, safe working conditions and assurance of job security, skills development and career advancement opportunities, and empowerment to contribute meaningfully to the workplace and organize without fear of retaliation.

The three-phase competition catalyzes coalition building to understand, plan for, and improve job access and job quality within the clean energy economy for target populations. Each competing coalition is required to include at least one representative from each of the following key stakeholder groups: labor organizations, clean energy employers, community-based organizations, public agencies, and education and workforce providers.

Up to 15 Phase One awardees will receive $50,000 for demonstrating robust partnerships focused on a specific clean energy employment opportunity and will be eligible to participate in Phase Two of the prize. In Phase Two, up to 10 teams will each win $100,000 for developing and implementing their Coalition Action Plans that demonstrate how the coalition will advance job quality and job access in the clean energy opportunities within their community. In Phase Three, the top three performing coalitions will receive $200,000 to $300,000 for the strength of their impact in implementing their Action Plans, and up to seven runner-up coalitions will receive $125,000.

L’INNOVATOR 2.0 PROGRAM
Through this Call for Commercialization Partners, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) seeks experienced commercialization partners to bring advanced hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, developed with support from the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office (HFTO) of the Department of Energy (DOE), from the lab to the marketplace, with the potential to drive significant impact in the energy sector. In pursuit of this objective, LANL, in collaboration with HFTO, is identifying one or more commercialization partners with the necessary
expertise, manufacturing capacity, commitment, and investment potential essential for successful commercialization and broad deployment of these transformative technologies.

As we transition to a clean energy future, environmental justice is among our top priorities. To that end, LADWP is investing $20 million in grants for local projects that help reduce emissions in the L.A. communities hardest hit by pollution sources, such as refineries and truck traffic. Over the course of six years, from 2020 – 2026, LADWP is providing grants ranging from $100,000 to $500,000 to help fund innovative projects that reduce emissions in the Harbor and Northeast San Fernando Valley communities, located in Council Districts 2, 6, 7 and 15. Our local Harbor and Valley communities are disproportionately burdened by multiple pollution sources, such as refineries and truck traffic, and are ranked high in the CalEnviroScreen mapping program.

Grants are awarded on a competitive basis to the organizations that can present a dynamic proposal for projects in the categories of interest (listed below) benefiting Council District 2, 6, 7, or 15. Start-up costs can be up to 15 percent of the project.

Notice is hereby given that the Redding Area Bus Authority (RABA), a Joint Powers Authority, is seeking information from interested parties to inform a potential transaction with a private sector entity(ies) to design, build, own, operate, and maintain a hydrogen refueling station that can provide hydrogen fuel to RABA’s transit fleet and, potentially, other public and private users in the Shasta County area. The purpose of this RFI is to collect information from market participants about the business case of private hydrogen refueling station development in this area and to understand the market’s preferences and parameters around the key business terms of such a transaction.
